Sittingbourne's Steam Railway Podcast (general)
Sittingbourne's best kept secret has gone global! Take a trip on the Sittingbourne & Kemsley Light Railway with the SSR Podcast.

Every Sunday in July we will be operating the COVID-19 Timetable, which is three trains per day at 11.30am, 1.15pm and 3pm.

We intend to operate trains on Wednesday 28th July but we are awaiting details from the Government to decide on whether the COVID-19 Timetable continues or the 2021 Timetable kicks-in.

As usual, all details can be found at www.sklr.net

The first of a series of short videos showing what to expect at Sittingbourne's Steam Railway.

This video is about our Sittingbourne Viaduct station. As you will see it is sparsely populated with buildings, due to arson incidents.

I stopped podcasting because of the grief I received by bots when uploading it to YouTube. The bots claimed ownership of the music I was using, which was actually royalty-free. It then meant that YouTube our ads on the videos, which was not my intention and the bot-owners made money on my viewers, albeit very low in number but  that’s not the point.

I continue to make short videos and will soon be making a longer one that I will use YouTube music for to reduce the issues.

In the meantime, the videos will have no sound.

This video focuses on the train train services between July and September 2019.

The Railway is closed until Good Friday but there's lots of work to be carried out before then. We will be holding Work Weekends every fortnight until we reopen.

This video was taken at the end of a Sittingbourne Viaduct-based Work Weekend and the train is returning tools etc to Kemsley Down.

Due to essential maintenance on Milton Regis Viaduct we may have to meet at Kemsley Paper Mill rather than Sittingbourne Viaduct station - click here for more information.

Sorry for the continued delay to this podcast - it will be uploaded in three segments as soon as I can reduce the file size.

The script for Podcast #6 is being edited so they may follow each other in close succession.

Category:general -- posted at: 6:30am UTC

There will be a delay in producing the audio-ony version of this podcast as I am busy every morning until further notice. Hopefully, this won't affect the production of Podcast #5.

Category:general -- posted at: 3:42am UTC

Unfortunately, Podcast #3 is being delayed but should be available over the weekend 20/21 March.

I had more production issues than I thought I would encounter by changing from Garage Band to iMovie to produce the podcast - I think I may have been too keen!

That hasn't stopped me though, so the podcast will include real video!

I'm sorry that it's running late and I hope it's worth the wait (do leave feedback!).

Cheers,

Paul
