I stopped podcasting because of the grief I received by bots when uploading it to YouTube. The bots claimed ownership of the music I was using, which was actually royalty-free. It then meant that YouTube our ads on the videos, which was not my intention and the bot-owners made money on my viewers, albeit very low in number but  that’s not the point.

I continue to make short videos and will soon be making a longer one that I will use YouTube music for to reduce the issues.

In the meantime, the videos will have no sound.

This video focuses on the train train services between July and September 2019.

This is the long awaited first part of Podcast #6!

As it's a new year I have started with an introduction to the Railway and a brief history of the line.

The majority of this podcast was recorded in the Bar Car at Kemsley Down in January (on a very cold day!) so the sound quality isn't as good as my Snowball microphone, also it finishes rather abruptly but that was due to a corruption in the recorded file, as it was so close to the end it worked out okay. You'll notice that I don't look at the camera much - sorry about that, I'm not being rude but my autocue program had broken down, also I was intending to use this as a commentary track but actually quite enjoyed the interaction, perhaps the Bar Car (or other coach) could be my studio in the future!

Each part will be uploaded as soon as it is done - due to the amount of news, Part 3 may turn into a full blown news programme!

Don't forget to email feedback to me at stopem@stopem.net

Unfortunately, Podcast #3 is being delayed but should be available over the weekend 20/21 March.

I had more production issues than I thought I would encounter by changing from Garage Band to iMovie to produce the podcast - I think I may have been too keen!

That hasn't stopped me though, so the podcast will include real video!

I'm sorry that it's running late and I hope it's worth the wait (do leave feedback!).

Cheers,

Paul

This is the video (photo slideshow) version of Sittingbourne & Kemsley Light Railway Podcast 2.

This episode lays down the foundations for the future episodes, with the introduction of the visit to the Railway format - I explain more in the Introduction chapter.

There should be interactive links in the 'Onward Connections' chapter and listen out for a sneak audio-peak of the next podcast right at the end.

I hope you enjoy your visit today! Please provide feedback and ratings. Feedback can be sent to stopem@stopem.net or in the appropriate sections on iTunes or the blog.

This is the 'video' version of the podcast - it has pictures to illustrate the speech. An audio only versions is also available. The podcast introduces the Sittingbourne & Kemsley Light Railway, gives a brief history of the Railway and a virtual trip between Sittingbourne Viaduct and Kemsley Down stations. What do you think? Please email feedback to stopem@stopem.net

This is the first of a series of monthly podcasts from the Sittingbourne & Kemsley Light Railway, in Kent, UK. In this episode, Paul Best, the Railway's press officer, will introduce you to the Railway with a brief history of the line and a 'virtual journey' between Sittingbourne Viaduct and Kemsley Down stations behind steam locomotive 'Melior'. Please feel free to send questions and comments to stopem@stopem.net
